The second of Tera Lynn Childs books was even more captivating than the first. Each of the characters matured and added a new dimension to the story. A new character was introduced, Tellin a guppyhood friend of Lily's, and he has a proposal that will leave everyone's heads spinning. This new storyline definitely holds promises for the next book.

I enjoy Lily's fierce loyalty to all those involved in her life. It is refreshing to find a character with her since of duty. Sometimes, this duty, causes her to make really difficult decisions; but she considers everyone's feelings before she acts.

Again, a light-hearted and fun read just in time for summer. Just the kind of book to read at the pool or seaside and let your imagination swim into the deep blue ocean! Another most awesome book by Tera Lynn Childs!

I just love it when a sequel can live up to the expectations that a reader has after reading the first book in a series! With Fins Are Forever, the author did an amazing job of making the second book just a fabulous as the first!

Lily is getting ready to turn eighteen and give up her place as future Queen of Thalassinia. She loves the human world and is looking forward to a future with Quince on land. She thought she just had problems with trying to figure out the answers to the SAT questions, but little does she know that bigger problems are about to arrive in the form of her cousin Doe. After Doe is exiled from Thalassinia, she must live with Lily on land and learn to accept humans. Doe loathes humans since the death of her parents a while back and can't stand anything about them. This all starts to change though when Doe meets Brody, Lily's previous crush.

Without getting into too many spoilers, I will say that some of the antics that Doe initiates was hilarious and typical of her spoiled brat personality. I could feel the frustration that Lily was going through in dealing with Doe on land. Even though this is a young adult paranormal read involving an underwater kingdom, the author makes the characters feel like regular humans with ordinary teen problems. Okay, well sometimes they are ordinary teen problems and sometimes they are mermaid problems!

Another amazing and fun book written by a fabulous author! Fins Are Forever is a wonderful follow-up sequel to Forgive My Fins and it definitely did not disappoint!

I really enjoyed this sequel to Forgive my Fins. I liked how the story takes place in the span of a month right after Lily's return to Seaview and how in that short time get to see a lot of character growth and story development. I cannot wait to read the final installment of this trilogy!

Dosinia exiled and sent to live with lily who has been tasked with the job of looking after Dosinia and is also part of her 'duty to her kingdom'. Not happy with the situation but unable to do anything about it Lily reluctantly takes responsibility for Dosinia.

It's not all plane sailing and pretty soon Lily has to make a decision. Bond with a mer Prince to save his city and lose Quince, or stay on land with Quince and let the city be destroyed with the changing climate.

I found myself really enjoying Fins are Forever more than the previous book Forgive my Fins. We get to see more characters and how they fit into Lily's old life as a mer Princess but also get to see how she is coping, or not coping, with her chosen human life. Dosinia coming on the scene however is having a backlash on her relationship with Quince and the decisions she makes for her human future and it was good to see how the tiny decisions she makes affected others, but also we get to see 'Princess Lily' in action.

I felt so sorry for Lily, although she made the decision to stay on land and be a human she has literally been thrown in at the deep end, and the slacking that she did has now caught up and Lily has to try as hard as possible to make her dream of being a human come true. Once again it was easy to fall into Lily's world and I quickly demolished the book.

The writing flows well and it is easy to follow the storyline without getting confused. Each chapter fits seamlessly next to each other and the ending had me wanting more. I can't wait to read the next instalment to she what happens next.

Forgive My Fins was an adorable tail (spelling on purpose) of a mermaid discovering who she should love and whether love is worth giving up your home at sea for a landlocked life. It was light, fluffy, and loads of fun. Fin Are Forever, the sequel, is similarly adorable. It is not as good as the first book, but I still enjoyed it.

Things are going great at the start of Fins are Forever. Quince and Lily are in love and happy happy. Pretty typical start to a second book. Then Lily's cousin Doe shows up and threatens to ruin everything.

Lily is floundering throughout much of this book. She always thought she'd go back to her sea home after school. Now that that isn't going to happen, she has to plan for a human future. That means college. But is that what she wants? She doesn't want to go back to the sea again or does she?

We meet new characters in this book and get to know old ones better. Doe's actions are pretty shocking. She thoughtlessly uses people. However, she isn't a flatly awful character. I was pleased that the author gives an explanation for her hatred toward humans and allowed her personality to grow. I also liked how Lily grew in this novel. She starts out much more confident than she was in Forgive My Fins, but she still has a long ways to go toward maturity. By the end of the book, she is beginning to have a grown-up, long-term view and makes decisions by thinking about someone else than herself. I was not a fan of Quince here. I loved him in the first book, but he's an after-thought in much of Fins Are Forever. Standard second book stuff, I suppose, but since he was one of the main things that made Forgive My Fins adorable, it's extra disappointing to miss out on extra Quince moments. The main new character is Tellin, a guppyhood friend of Lily. I loved his character. Is he a good or bad guy? Honest or manipulative? It's hard to say for much of the book. Nice to have a complex character.

The plot is good and bad. On the good side, we learn more about the mermaid world. There are other kingdoms, for example. And the human world has affected mermaids more than we realized in the first book. Things aren't all sunny. The author did a great job of exploring how Lily has the potential to affect her subjects' lives for good and the consequences of doing so. It takes the book slightly beyond it's main fluffy nature. On the bad side of the plot, there were a lot of events that were too outrageous to be believed - even for a mermaid book. Doe and Brody's relationship ended up being a stretch. And certain conflicts were cleaned up too neatly at the end.

Regardless of its flaws, Fins Are Forever was a cute continuation to the series. I don't take these books too seriously, so I'm willing to accept some silliness. I'm curious to see where the series goes from here.

Fins are Forever is a sequel to Forgive my Fins. On Lilys 18th birthday she will renounce her title as Princess and future Queen to live life on land with the boy she loves.Or will she. When her father(the king) sends her troubled cousin, who hates humans,to live on land with lily everything changes. While lily struggles with SAT and her cousin, a boy from lilys past shows up. Will lily bond with someone new and be able to stay princess or does she stay on land with Quince? This book still had all the fun along with some twist and mystery that keeps you guessing until the very last pages.

A great book for late elementary school early middle school readers. Honestly didn't read it recently but I did read it as a kid and loved it so there is that

Ever since Lily stepped on land to be with Quince and finish her human schooling, she has never been more stressed. The SATs are coming up and her grades could use some hard work. Then the earth moves (literally!) and her bratty cousin Dosinia shows up on her doorstop. Exiled from their underwater home, Doe will hanging out with lily and her Aunt Rachel for a while. As if this isn't enough already, it quickly becomes clear that Lily's former crush Brody is interested in Doe. And an ex-flame with an agenda comes back into her life as well. With so much going on, Lily's impending 18th birthday seems like the least of her problems!

As the second book in the series, I think Fins Are Forever is better than the first book, Forgive My Fins. This is definitely one of the sillier mermaid stories I have read, but the quirks that annoyed me in the first book were so much more enjoyable in this one. Like the fish talk and sea-sayings. They were totally cute in this story! Perhaps I was just drawn to the Good Girl/Bad Girl plot line between Lily and Doe. The scenes with them together were the best! I also have to say it was refreshing to see a YA character who is struggling with their grades, instead of passing over school subjects as though they didn't matter. I really liked the way Quince and Lily interacted with each other, too. At first it seemed a little abrupt, especially after all they went through in the first book. But I quickly settled in to the Lily/Quince lifestyle. If you made it through the first one, be sure to pick up this next installment. It's totally worth the read!

Another reread for me, again very quick and entertaining. I mean this wasn't high quality literature but it was good.
