This book was so wonderful. I didn't think it would apply to me very much, because I'm already pretty solidly in my career, and a tiny bit older than the author, but honestly, it very much did! Because this is some business advice, some life advice, some encouragement, some reality checks, and some really helpful ways of viewing what it means to be a person living today who wants to live for more than just themselves. Everyone will find something in it, most will find lots in it. I could not recommend it enough.

Such a good book! The transparency that Liz writes throughout the entire book is just what people need to hear. She puts a twist on big picture goals and views and makes you take her experiences and think about your own! Definitely a favorite and one I’d recommend no matter what stage of life you’re in.

Well written, inspirational, and a great overall message! The author writes from a place of extreme privilege in comparison to most in her story, however, she takes ownership of that early on in the book. I enjoyed the fresh perspective on creating your passion and not becoming stuck in the positions of giver and receiver. Well done!

Enjoyed learning about her company Sseko. Favorite line in the entire book, “you are average.”

“Do Beginners succeed despite their lack of experience? Or perhaps, in part, because of it? Could being a Beginner (or at least, acting like one by channeling your Inner Beginner during every season of life) actually be an asset in your journey to build a life of purpose and passion? Yes! After all, who needs luck when you’ve got PLUCK? What many beginners lack in experience, track record, know-how, and connections, they make up in nerve, curiosity, spirit, courage, and a willingness to acknowledge they don’t have it all figured out. Which are all, as it turns out, incredibly useful in building lives of purpose, passion, and impact.”

First of all: thank you, Liz! You truly looked at my soul and shared the words I needed to hear. Thank you for sharing your story while simultaneously building up and encouraging the rest of us to WAKE UP!

I absolutely couldn’t put this book down. Not only is Liz’s story compelling and interesting, but she shares actionable and strikingly achievable insights for successfully pursuing your heart callings. I believe this is a book for EVERYONE to read!!

The mark of a great book, for me, is one that on first read I get a lot out of, but that I immediately know is a book to be read multiple times because the content is rich with complexity and insight. I can tell I will be referring to this book for years to come and am already excited for the various re-reads at different stages of my passion-building life!

“You have everything you need to go build an extraordinary life of purpose and impact. Beginner’s Pluck is less about striving and achieving and grasping and more about being courageous and intentional about getting back to who you were created to be.”

P.S. The hardcover is absolutely gorgeous! The jacket is vellum-like, but sturdy, and I’m super impressed with the durable corners of the books! I commuted with this book in my backpack and I have no backpack-wear at all!

An excellent book and necessary read for anyone plagued with dreams and passion. Or anyone plagued with confusion and feeling lost. So basically any human. Thoughtfully and wit-fully written.

This was a cute read. The author infused her personality well into her words. I would call it an inspirational memoir.

A fabulous, warts and all look at how Liz stated what  she did, why, how and all the messy bits involved. Deeply moving and contra much of current material but it’s honesty and down to earthiness is filled with charm, humour and vibrancy.

Liz is such a refreshing voice in the world full of too many authors with cliché insights that fall flat in the face of reality. Her insights and experience have the right amount encouragement and realism, seasoned with a dash humor that is too honest to not chuckle at.
