Hovannes Tumanyan's Folk Tales, compiled in the Romantic manner of the Grimms or Perrault from Armenian oral tradition (that is historical Armenia, much vaster than the present-day republic) are filled with humour, supernatural elements and life lessons. An entertaining way of accessing this literature which is so rich but so little known for most readers.
