Objectively, this was a good book. It had me hooked in the first half but then I stopped reading it completely for like 8 months. I felt like this book should be an emotional read, but it just felt so emotionless for some reason.

Very well-written. Held my interest, which is something considering I don't usually like court-room dramas. I appreciated the ambiguous nature of the subject matter.

If you are interested in my opinion…I recommend you read Lynn’s response. She hit the nail on the head, the story line and arch is irrelevant with how the author ended the book. Reading the whole story was a waste of time because the main dilemma was never answered…just supplemented with a completely ridiculous ending.

This book has the cheapest ending I've ever seen. I would still give the book 5 stars if that hadn't ruined basically everything, because the most important part of it all, the part that 90% of the book revolved around, was just destroyed.

It felt like Picoult was like "I really want to write that... oh, but I can't actually go there"

I've been hearing about Jodi Picoult for quite a while and now I know why she is popular. I'm expecting a great discussion at book group!

I never thought a book could make me cry. This proved me wrong.
