I read this aloud to Scott while he played Pandemic on his iPad. He bought a whole lot of Goosebumps books off eBay and it was so nostalgic and funny. Amazing ending! But an insane amount of adverbs and descriptions of dew on the grass.

Es uno de los libros de la serie "Pesadillas" que más me han gustado, porque se juega mucho con el miedo a lo desconocido a lo largo de todo el libro, en lugar de tener un objetivo concreto. No hay monstruos, ni fantasmas, ni historias de esas... Sólo un grupo de niños que tratan de enfrentarse - lejos del apoyo de sus padres - a una situación totalmente nueva para ellos... Y extraña y terrorífica como pocas.
Lo que fastidia un poco el libro (y por eso ha perdido una estrella entera por el camino) es el final. Muy abrupto, en vez de ir moldeándose poco a poco a lo largo de los capis finales, lo resuelve todo en las cuatro páginas que dura el último capítulo. Con el final sorpresa propio de los libros de RL Stine.

After my mother convinced my little brother to read a book, he finally agreed and bought this one. And you can't imagine my joy (and surprise) when I saw what he had choosen.
I got familiar with the author in a (what a coincidence) a camp! There was a section in the camp bibliotheque with his books and I saw it everytime I went there. Curiousity took over me and I decided to read one. And, oh boy, I didn't regret it! I fell in love with them and I wanted to read every single one!
Five years have passed ever since then, but ok. I started this book with high hopes and, unfortunately, I noticed my love for R.L. Stine has faded out.
The writing was a bit childish and it ruined my experience. I don't remember if my 11-years-old me had a problem with it.
Still, it managed to hook me! I liked the mysterious atmosphere and I wanted to know what happened to the disappeared kids and what was inside the Forbidden House. The plot twist at the end was both confusing and nice, at least to me.
Recommend it to every kid who is about to reach puberty.

This book was consistently creepy and interesting throughout but the ending was so disappointing! How many Goosebumps books are going to end this exact way?

i knew one of the twists going in but not the other one! super interesting read - another one that has a lot of potential to be a YA thriller. there were still some goosebumps cliches that took me out at times, but the story was super immersive. i often multitask while reading goosebumps, but this held my full attention.
