This book is an extraordinary feat of imagination. There is nothing quite like this world of steam punk slums and mythological creatures. The main storyline is riveting and sometimes terrifying, and the characters draw you in as often as they repel you.

This is the weirdest thing I've ever read. New Crobuzon, that magnificent city state, is the true star of this book.

DID NOT FINISH

Very well written, descriptions pulled you in. But it was very slow moving and little character development in the first third of the book. Might come back when I'm feel more literary.
