Reading this book is like being wrapped in a warm and cozy blanket. It is chalk full of the warm and fuzzies and it is impossible to read without a smile.

At the start of the book, we meet the book's main protagonist, Linus Baker, who's life is a little drab and very rainy (quite literally it always seems to be raining). Luckily for him, and for the readers, his life is soon shaken up with a mysterious assignment to a house on a cerulean sea. There you will meet some very unique children who will teach you a little something about the wonders of being different and living life boldly and outside the lines.

As one can probably guess from the description, this book is at times insanely cheesy. Although you might find yourself smirking at the reminders to "be yourself" and "change starts with a few", the book's cheese is a huge part of it's enduring charm that will leave you grinning till the last page. Enjoy reading! It is an absolute pleasure and delight.

I thoroughly enjoyed this read. I took a chance stepping out of my comfort zone and I'm so glad I did. The story of Linus and the inhabitants of Marsyas Orphanage invoked all of those warm and cozy feelings I was looking for. I will be recommending this over and over again!

i loved this story so much the writing was so beautiful and the story so heartwarming. it really is a journey as we follow their lives. the beginning is a bit melancholic because that is the reality for Linus. his character and the story develop beautifully.
