The miscommunications just made me want to shake all the characters—which is the backbone of Persuasion. It all felt very human. 

There were some confusing jumps in the book to different times or different characters that could have been clarified or identified better.

This is disguised as a light hearted Persuasion retelling, but deals with a lot more trauma than its source material. I enjoyed the first book more as this was heavy, but the writing is good.

This book is marketed as a rom-com, which is totally inaccurate. The characters are manipulative, melodramatic and passive aggressive. There are elements that could be really cute - the cooking show, the former high school sweethearts - but the characters are so unlikeable and there are so many triggering behaviors, it's not worth the time.

Ash Ana and Rico are pretty cute for a second chance romance but I don’t think I full understood why they broke up the first time so messily that they kind of hated each other... I don’t think it was every really addressed. I also don’t love that it was generational HOWEVER I can see the importance of her mother’s story so I wouldn’t want it not there either lol that being said I’m excited for book 3 but book 1 was def better
