Delicious word salad by a poet who writes novel-length poems. Hilarious, too.

Truthful, mosaic, exhausting. The mundanities are true to life but tucked in there is of course more queer trauma.

The first "meh" reading experience of 2011. I just couldn't get into this book, a collection of short diary-like vignettes from the life of an ADD screenwriter. I think if I'd read this over a day or a weekend I may have liked it better. Since there's no real plot thread to speak of, it's kind of a difficult book to keep coming back to; there's nothing really happening, so you're not in any rush to return to it. Well-written but not the type of book I especially enjoy.

Love the style and the form. Eventually tired of the solipsism. Which, I'm guessing, is part of the point.

I don't think this is for everyone, but if you like the weird, experimental, and hysterically funny, then it is for you. It's a novel without much of a plot and written in about 500 short fragments, each of which are polished stones of literary greatness and humor. You will probably either be perplexed and hate it or love it and obviously I am in the latter camp.

Obviously excellent but a little too on the nose for this point in my life. I got halfway through but I think I'll have to come back to this when I'm in a better frame.

beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. very little else out there quite like it.
