It took me a while to get into this book (the whole "lifestyles of the rich and famous" stuff wasn't appealing to me), but I am so glad I hung in there because WOW what an amazing story of redemption. If it wasn't for the long intro/background at the beginning this would definitely be 5 stars. I also had a little trouble with how quickly everyone healed from life-threatening injuries - that wasn't realistic to me. I definitely recommend this book, and make sure you read the author's note "On Digging A Well" at the end of the book!

I could read this book again and again. This is such a heartwarming story.

This book honestly surprised me as to how good it was going to be. I really liked how he interwove the past and the present, one does have to have a suspension of disbelief for the main character- but it is very heartwarming and a nice happy ending.

Too many words

Charles Martin is one of my favorite authors, but this one left much to be desired. The story was just ok and the descriptions were far too wordy. I found myself skipping entire pages of text and thinking, “please get to the point.”

Coffee. Drugs. Corporations. Money. Business. Wealth. Poverty. Empty souls. Full hearts. And lots of water!

Water From My Heart is worth every second spent reading it. In the last 100 pages, I cried & smiled without meaning to. I am sad to say goodbye to Charlie, Paulo, Leena, Isabelle, Hack, & Nicaragua... but as all good books do, it must end somewhere!

I've always loved Charles Martin's work, but this book didn't intrigue me like his other books did. I'm planning to keep the book and re-read it again in a few months. I'm hoping that I'm just "in a funk" because I know this man has the right chops!
