I took a two week reading gap at 75% because my anxiety straight up could not handle it. Thank you Stacey Marie Brown for giving me so many characters to love, but I swear if you kill four semi-main characters in less than 100 pages I will riot. Immediately moving on to the next book to get over this cliff hanger.

First and foremost: Opie and Bitzy must be exhausted from carrying this series on their backs. BUT -
GAH!!! That ending has my stomach in knots. The cycle continues - Brexley is kidnapped, she escapes. Kidnapped again, thrown back into prison of horrors, had to fight and kill her friends again. But the worst part? WE KNOW THEM NOW.

I’m in this series for the characters and the story, but the writing has deteriorated dramatically since the first book. There frank gramatical errors as well as clichés. The constant
capturing by the various sides
challenged my suspension of disbelief.  The plot is also getting a bit convoluted. The magical world is still interesting. The central mystery is still intriguing. I feel the protagonist’s losses with her. Poor and Bitzy are still silly but delightful.

Yes, this series is repetitive. But it has the oomph that keeps you coming back book after book. One of my favorite aspects of SMB’s writing is her portrayal of spice. The main romance between Warwick (who I still find obnoxious, but perhaps he’s written that way) and Brex is electric. When they collide, space and time cease to exist, things explode, gods are born, and unicorns appear… not actually, but you catch my drift. It’s a never-ending stream of beautiful, bold and sensual words stitched together exquisitely, which clearly does it for me! I also appreciate the grit. The story and its characters have balls and the action really is non-stop.

Felt very repetitive. I don’t think I’ll be continuing the series.

This book was pretty frustrating. A lot of it is repeating circumstances in book one with a different villain. There were things I liked, but my interest is waning a bit.

Review:
I read this book in a few hours and I NEED the next book NOW!!! It was so action packed I constantly felt bad for the characters, they could never have a moment of peace. One thing that bothered me though was the whole mate revelation, it happened WAY too fast. And that their bond was non-existent, GIVE IT BACK-

But aside from that, this book has now taken my heart, cut it into tiny pieces and left them at the bottom of the ocean.

I feel like I’m brain dead from reading this for 7 hours straight on my phone with no breaks. It was totally worth it.

I don’t think I will survive till Blood Lands is released. Until then, I’m going to think about how much this book hurt me daily<3

(Before release date: I KNOW this is going to be amazing, no need to wait giving it 5 stars! I'm literary sitting here WAITING for this to be released, nothing else matters.)
