I’m pretty sure Patchett told us everyone’s fates at the beginning and I was still shocked and sad.

Loosely based on the events that took place in Lima Peru back in 1996 where terrorists held a a bench of people at a party hostage for over 120 days. Sounds interesting doesn't it. Well some how the author was able to romanticize this and it seemed that everyone was civilized and calm and the hostages made friendship and feel in love with some of the terrorists. Can we say Stockholm Syndrome. I was so bored. The plot was boring the characters were boring.
