I've only read one other David Baldacci novel, First Family, and loved it. I kept meaning to pick up another. Took long enough but well worth it.

This book was a joy to read. Fast paced. I never felt like putting it down. The character of Will Robie is, technically, cliché. A hit man with a heart of gold. However, the writing never had me rolling my eyes. Teaming him up with a young girl, similar to the Professional right down to watching her parents die, also could have seemed like a bad reboot. Yet I enjoyed their interactions and found myself drawn into the conspiracy.

A fun read and a just the thing for satisfying your action fix.

holy crap!!! I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED THIS BOOK!!! his best book EVER. I mean, yeah, alot of his newer books are really good and keep getting better but this one......I'm speechless. I loved the chemistry he had with Robie and Julie, the 14 yr old girl. I loved the title and the end. I'm very impressed with this book. I'd HIGHLY recommend this book and think it would also make an AWESOME movie! :D

Initially I was hesitant about the professional killer/courageous teen pairing but the plot was interesting and well paced. A good 1 day read.

Ny serie for meg fra Baldacci - Will Robie #1. Like lovende som King & Maxwell-serien som jeg nettopp har lest. Også på Storytel. Både på norsk og engelsk!

I'm sorry, but I liked this a lot. This is the first thing I've read by the author and I was surprised how well he kept things moving along and even how well he developed character. I liked these people. A great novel? No. But as a thriller, it hit the spot. And I will be reading more Baldacci as a result.

I got through the first few pages and didn't really care for the writing style. That being said, I'm glad I didn't just give up on it. I learned to actually get over my own hangups with it and was able to see the excellent story that it was! Plenty of suspense, action, and twists. I would love to see this as a movie! Excellent book!

The Innocent is a story of an American assassin who is trying to solve a mystery before it kills him. The protagonist Will Robie is an assassin for a secret government organization who kills on orders without questioning. But he fails to act on one of such mission and he becomes a target.

Because of an accident he pairs up with a teenage girl whose parents were killed right before her eyes. Will Robie somehow feels responsible for the girl. He soon realizes that someone is playing a game with him, someone who doesn’t care about collateral damage, someone who doesn’t want him killed just yet.

He teams up with FBI agent Nicole Vance to catch whoever is playing the deadly game in which the causalities keep mounting.

The book is very fast paced and interesting and it keeps the mystery alive until the very end. I finished it in two days. The characters are nicely developed. The seemingly different mysteries never stray too far and in the end all loose ends are tied up. Definitely recommended.
