This book said, "I'm gonna be a smutty Hallmark movie" and held to that level of plot and character development. I didn't find the MCs 100% believable, and they changed their minds so quickly it gave me whiplash. Because of the surface-level development, I wasn't sold on their attraction (sex worker that is now disgusted at the thought of touching other women? Trust-fund socialite that immediately forgets about her lifelong flame?).That being said, the male MC is genuinely sweet, caring, and consent-focused.

There was a lot of bizarrely intro-level sex-positive feminism, including some sections that read as ignorantly anti-kink. Don't go here for nuanced discussions about sex, gender, or class. I don't want to yuck somebody's development, though. This COULD be a good intro for people trying to reckon with negative assumptions about sex work, female pleasure, and porn. I wouldn't recommend it for folks who have done deeper work around sex positivity.

This was a good brain break, and some of the writing was really nice and occasionally funny, but you get what you see (or less?).

Loved the concept of this plot! It was your typical “opposites attract”, but it was done really well. It didn’t go as I would have expected, which was a nice twist. (Don’t worry, I won’t spoil it for you

3.5 stars -Smart PHD graduate society girl moves cross country to get a relationship with her chosen man only to be dumped with a male porn star for a roommate. The odd couple plus. She’s conservative prude, he’s an unabashed endowed porn star. She doesn’t know who is for a while she just goes with the flow while making plans to get to her man again. Yes the same man who already dumped her, not that they ever had any relationship. It’s all on her, and felt obsessive. So, they live together, she is a tight rope he’s an easy flow type of guy.
I enjoyed the story but didn’t feel any strong connection between these two. His background her background, it just was too removed from each other. The story was very fresh, very new, I didn’t even care that the two main characters didn’t mesh for me I enjoyed the story.
I received a copy from the publisher for an honest review

This book had me until it didn't.
the point that it stopped having me was when the mmc got unreasonably upset at the fmc for wanting her professional and private life kept separate and then became very cruel because ????

Also some of the criticisms of this book that I've seen are very silly i.e. people not liking that the character hook up before feelings really develop which is so??? What did you think was gonna happen????

This ended up falling flat for me. I liked Josh’s character a lot, but Clara was way too narcissistic and out of touch for me to get behind (and this is coming from someone who loves unlikable characters). The side characters were two-dimensional and didn’t really add to the plot, which is a shame because there was so much potential there. I did like the overall writing style and concept though. Considering this was her debut novel, I would definitely still pick up more Rosie Danan books in the future!
