Oh that was so SWEET. Full of growth, fleshed-out secondary characters, compelling romance, and Macbeth as a narrative device. I would happily read more books by Quach in the future!

okay, did not like the romance but did enjoy most of the coming of age stuff going on. The feminism commentary was pretty fun and I appreciated some of the points that it made. As for the romance, I didn't feel it at all. I felt like it was rushed and didn't make sense.

I went into this book only knowing that it had academic rivalry, but I stayed because of how impactful it is.

I am at lost for words, to be quite honest, but this got me out of a book slump. It's such a fun read—it honestly feels like my favourite milk tea: iced jasmine milk tea with coconut jelly. In my mind, I'm like walking with someone under blossoming trees just right when the sun is painting the sky with an orange blush while reading this story.

It's beautiful to me how relatable Eliza is, being Asian myself. And also a writer. I loved that aspect of the story. I cannot arrange right now my thoughts, but seriously this book deserves all the awards. I love it so much, I think it's my new comfort read.

this book was a fun, light read. read it after watching the Barbie movie so I was in a mood for feminism. nice palette cleanser, but I’d be lying if I said I’ll remember the plot by next week

The only thing that I knew about this book was that there was an academic rivals to lovers. It was an immediate yes for me.
Then I realised it is mainly focused on feminism which I really liked. Though I was expecting something different and maybe a little bit more. I got kinda bored sometimes to be honest. But still, I enjoyed reading it. Its a cute read that tackles important issues.
