Huge plot twist that really enriches the series and sets the trilogy up to be a successfully ambitious treatise in the form of a thoroughly enjoyable read. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

All the stuff I liked about the previous book is largely ignored here for the sake of throwing a bunch of stuff into the plot and seeing what sticks. None of it did, though. I didn't feel like Deka was emotionally invested in what was going on around her, so it was hard to care about it, even if it was super messed up and appalling.

I liked this narrator a bit better than the first one.
