Personally, I love princess Galdinia and her character development throughout the entire book. She grew so much from a young, naive and sheltered princess to a young adult coming to terms of her powers and royal responsibilities naturally. Another thing I love about Galdinia was how the people surrounding her genuinely cared for the best outcomes for her. Specifically the adult figures in her life nurtured and nudged her in the right directions without taking advantage of her trust for their own personal gains. It's all so refreshing to see Galdinia get all the guidance from the people she loves. I also find myself rooting for our beautiful princess as she navigates the conflict between her heart and royal duties.
Now, the story itself feels like a cosy YA fantasy though that isn't to say that there's a lack of excitement in the book. The world building was easy to take in once I start picturing the sceneries and dynamics just as Disney's Frozen and Brave. The author's writing style made it all so easy to immerse oneself in Galdinia's world and kingdom. And the plot twist? Can't say I didn't see that coming a mile away which sucked but it had to happen. By the end of the book, I feel attached to Galdinia and her journey to become the righteous ruler her kingdom deserves. I have faith in her capabilities to carve her paths to success and happiness. Can't wait for the rest of the trilogy to be released!
I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review which in no way affected my thoughts and opinions on this book.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of princess of Dawn and I really enjoyed princess Galdinia's story. It was so easy to understand and I was hooked pretty much right from the start. Will be patiently waiting for the second books release!
