Thank you Dey Street for the giveaway winner copy of So Fetch: The Making of Mean Girls (And Why We're Still So Obsessed with It) by Jennifer Keishin Armstrong
🍿 As a high school student in 2004, I remember watching a rented Blockbuster DVD of the movie Mean Girls and laughing out loud!
😂 This movie felt edgy, funny, and relatable! Mean Girls accurately captured cliques and how mean girls can be undetected by unsuspecting adults. Instead of physically fighting, mean girls use power plays, manipulation, and words that hurt.
🩷 Mean Girls gave us hilarious quotable lines:
“On Wednesdays we wear pink”
“Four for you Glen Coco! You go, Glen Coco!”
“I’m not a regular mom, I’m a cool mom”
and many more.
📖 So Fetch: The Making of Mean Girls (And Why We're Still So Obsessed with It) reveals little known facts about the production and tells the story of the women who made the movie happen behind the scenes (including Rosalind Wiseman, author of Queen Bees and Wannabes- the book that inspired Mean Girls)
Twenty years later, the story still resonates with today’s teens. The cultural impact of Mean Girls was much greater than anyone imagined at the time it was created.
