What an intense book. Fantastic plot; very unique. Interesting characters. I reread this book in April 2012 after having read it and then seeing the movie in theaters. The book is SO much better. I was hoping that rereading the book would redeem the movie in some fashion but it actually made the movie look worse! Oh, well.

Warning for those concerned with a clean read - references to drugs, sexual relationships, violence. I will not be revisiting this book, even though it is VERY good.

This one has been staring at me from my TBR for ages, so I finally decided it was time. I’ve always loved the movie, but the audiobook completely pulled me in. Having two narrators made it so easy to follow between Clare’s and Henry’s perspectives, and it gave the whole story more depth.

The book dives deeper into the time travel details than the movie ever did, which made me appreciate the concept even more. That said, being with a time traveler? Exhausting. Lonely. Absolutely not for me. But watching Clare and Henry navigate it all was beautiful and heartbreaking in equal measure.
