I have been saving this book for years! YEARS. I knew I would like this one and it did not disappoint. A solid fantasy story line with enough romance to keep my heart happy.

Draven has a very specific writing style and type of stories she likes to tell. I didn't necessarily dislike the characters or the story, but I think it was a little slow for me. In addition, Silhara was pretty deplorable at times in the beginning. This is why I somewhat feel like this is a Beauty and the Beast again, but it's not quite too. She's spying on him, everyone knows it, and they end up falling in love. This is more she falls first and I either would rather not knowing his POV or having him have better opinions of her earlier.
Neith I thought was okay. She starts to stand up to Silhara a little, but it's not strong armed. She softens him with soft touches and words more than anything. Not my favorite type, but sometimes you want a more gentle type of woman who is also strong without having to be a fighter. I just wish sh was a little more assertive more often, I guess. I know it's partially because she is a bound woman, but still.
However, I really like Draven's world building and writing style. He writing style is very storytelling, fairytale type of writing. It's not necessarily lyrical, but it's not like your typical fantasy writing style.
The end was okay. Not necessarily surprising, but a HEA.

Probably the best $2.99 I've spent on a book in the Kindle store. Magic and romance and sacrifice and humor and everything you'd want in a story.
