I never accepted his promise from earlier, but he keeps it anyway. He doesn't let me fall.

This reminded me why I still read YA books from time to time. They usually don't click with me, but this one just hit different. I was not expecting all of the discussions that were had in this little book: from familial love to childhood trauma, I felt that it was all done very well. Not only was I smiling and giggling to myself like a total fool, I also found myself tearing up multiple times because I just loved the dynamic between Jonah and his little sisters. Having two little sisters myself, Jonah's thoughts and fears brought up so many feelings in me; I just loved him as a character. All of the darker moments (please refer to the author's comment on Goodreads for trigger warnings) were beautifully balanced by cute and somewhat cringey scenes like PDA and Jonah acting the clown.

I totally recommend the audiobook, it was really well done - the spanish was gorgeous!

SO GOOD. I really loved that Dylan and Jonah’s dynamic didn’t change that much even after they got together for real, and they were still squabbling, cuz that’s who they are! The ending was great and I loved that Dylan didn’t totally patch things up w his entire family. Loved <3 this book handled a lot more mature themes than the description hinted at at all, which I loved, but might need to be taken with a warning for others!

amazing! i went into the book thinking it would be a short enemies to lovers story, and came out with not only that but a heartbreaking and beautiful story about two characters learning how to move through their trauma and finding comfort in each other. already want to reread it and can’t wait for other books that amanda woody will write!

Enemies to Lovers
Fake Dating
Duel POV

They Hate Each Other was funny and emotional. The character were lovable. The banter was hilarious. The sibling bonds were so cute.

The book features/references:
Panic attacks. Trauma. Physical abuse.
Alcoholic parent and parent death.
Strained family relationships.
Learning to ask for and accept help.

The audiobook performance was great. I loved the narrators.

Obsessed, basically listened for 10 hours straight. An "I can fix him but wait I need to fix myself" masterpiece.
