A superhero is born in a Harry-Potter-ish environment, with some drama characters and some monsters. It's always so nice to read how superheroes get their powers and slightly less nice to read how they use them and feel bad about it. Luckily, there is no Lord Voldemort to poison the pages, so it's mostly a good book.
I was torn between 4 and 5, but gave 4, because I found the action too chaotic, with too many chapters and characters that I didn't enjoy. Also, I kind of prefer books with no superheroes.

Really good. Not quite as fun as Abercrombie's First Law books, but still more complex than I'd expected. I'll definitely pick up the next one too.

Fantasy at its finest. This scratched every fantasy itch I had, a truly engaging and rich story filled with brotherhood, war, religion and fascinating plots and characters.
