"Thank you Chloe Walsh for giving us Gerard Gibson" we all say in unison. That's all I have to say.

Heartbreaking, soul destroying, emotional turmoil. Get the tissues ready. Because this one keeps hitting.

Devastated 😭 This book made me sob! I thought I might not cry as much reading this book as the previous books but boy was I wrong.

Gibsie’s story was heartbreaking 💔 and hearing him relive it was horrible. The joker in the group, never taking things too seriously, was hiding a past full of trauma and pain. I was routing for him to confide in the people that loved him, and it was frustrating when he didn’t (not a huge fan of the miscommunication trope 😕) but then it became crystal clear why he didn’t 😭

Claire was a bit hit and miss for me, I loved how she stood by Gibsie but then there were other times where she showed her immaturity. I did not like that she betrayed Gibsie’s trust, especially in the way she went about it, but I’m glad the truth was finally revealed so that Gibsie could get the help he needed. Her heart was always in the right place but it was her secret to share, on both occasions!

I thought this was Gibsie and Claire’s story and it was but Lizzie featured heavily too which again makes more sense once the story unfolds. I’m not sure how I feel about her right now but I’m sure this book will flow perfectly into the next one and we’ll see her story play out.

This series is not for the faint hearted so please check the trigger warnings before reading.

What I will say though, is that Chloe Walsh writes real and believable characters with powerful emotions and doesn’t shy away from tackling difficult subjects.

God I just love these characters so much. I love Claire and Gibs together, but I enjoyed seeing the rest of the Tommen gang too, especially getting to know Hugh and Patrick a bit more.
I don’t think this book deserves the hate it gets and I definitely wasn’t disappointed like a lot of people said they were, it was just the last 10%(ish) that bothered me. Obviously this book is the shortest from the lot and I would read pages and pages on every single character in this series but especially with Taming 7, it felt like it needed a little more. A lot felt unresolved at the end and it felt a little rushed in some places, and I kinda didn’t like
how Gibsie forgave Claire so easily, like…that was real shitty of her.

Not sure how I feel about going straight into Lizzie’s book next, because as much as I try and have patience and understanding for the girl, she drove me absolutely wild throughout the entirety of this book.
