This was so good! Such a great way to follow the drama of the 1st book. I love that we get to see so much more of Pae and Kai and how they work through it all. The ending! I have so many questions, not only about the ending but Calum! How did he survive, and why is he allowed so close to the King??

I liked this book for the forced proximity and enemies to lovers aspect. The tension between Kai and Paedyn was good, but I didn’t love that it felt kind of repetitive. It felt like the same thing kept happening where they didn’t want to give in to their feelings but did end up giving in. And while there was new information that was revealed in this book, it also kind of felt like nothing really happened? The ending, however, was absolutely criminal (even though I wasn’t exactly surprised lol).

It took me so long to read this and I hate to say it about any book, but this series is so far overhyped. I’m not a picky reader but damn the writing was trashy. Not to say I didn’t like Kai and Paedyn! And i liked the fact that the conflict between duty and love was a legitimate trope here.
I hate what Kitt has become after his devil of a father’s death, I felt like that was unnecessary.And i saw that he does not get any redemption so im so torn about continuing to read this series.
Also didnt expect that this book was entirely about the journey back to Ilya. Could have been a shorter novela for me. Anyway not bad but not great haha

It's a very good enemies/lovers story. Transition book, boring bits, cute bits, sad bits. Angst was good. Not original at all but that's expected.
