Y'all. This book. WHAT was this book. Okay. The first half at least was mid. I was feeling a solid 3 stars. This is book 2 in a trilogy. A small reflection connecting what the last book ended on was enough of a recap in case you didn't do a re-read, but this DRAGGED on. The second half started to pick up but only the last 10-15 chapters started to reel me back in with Kai & Pae's story. The ENDING however threw me into the deep end. I give this between 3.5-4 just because of how much it felt like it was dragging but leaving this at a 4 overall because that ending has me itching to continue reading.

no but seriously this was a really good book and you're probably wondering why I rated it four stars, it's because I got spoiled for the main plot twist of the book (thanks a lot Instagram). the ending was absolutely Chef kiss especially right before they walked into the castle (if you know you know), cuz that was absolutely the cutest thing like I was giggling and kicking my feet like it was everything but it just had to get ruined so I do recommend you read you this book cause lawd have mercy, Kai
