On the surface, this seems like a typical Little novel. That is to say, you take an everyday thing (school), throw in a paradox delusion (charter turning to fascism), and add a supernatural element to tie it all in. So yes, in that respect, it was tylic Little. Not to say that is a bad thing mind you. Beyond the expected elements, we have a story and suspense buildup that is so masterful, you easily get roped in, and will find it hard to put down. This is right up there with The Store and The Resort on my list of favorite Little works!

A quick read and a fairly standard creepy story similar to something from Dean Koontz. A curse from the past takes over when the decision for a school to become a charter school is rammed through by the principal. As new strict and strange charter "rules" are put into place, many teacher and student personalities begin to change for the worse and those unaffected among the students, staff and student parents may soon become the school's victims.

I found this book to be boring and predictable. I only finished it because I cannot start a book without finishing it. I like the author but, this book was very disappointing.
