Can I give it more than 5 stars? WHAT A JOURNEY!

Coming back to the familiar characters going though a new, even more dangerous, adventure.. it was attacking my feels left and right.

It did take me forever to finish the book, because I was afraid of my beloved characters getting battered and hurt, and as per usual, Leigh Bardugo did not disappoint.

I miss Kaz and the gang so so so bad! So I picked this up to fill that void and since Nikolai was the only saving grace for me before I met the Crows, the sole reason I was able to pull through Alina's never ending monologue 🙄 (aka the Shadow and Bone trilogy) was all thanks to this beloved snarky Privateer and a dash of Aleksander. So to have both of these characters centered for this duology, count me in!

this book is a solid fours stars.
it’s obviously not as good as six of crows (i’ve missed my little ketterdam thieves all along and jumped everywhere everytime they were mentionned)

i felt like the first half was pretty slow, but then it started became interesting. the plot twist at the end was incredible!!
