I loved this book! I like coming of age stories and finding out things about yourself, and after watching Derry Girls I wanted to read a story set in Ireland.

Even though my experience growing up was different in so many ways, I found myself relating to Lucy and the way she wasn’t ready to fully be herself because everything would come crashing down. I know that if I had grown up as a girl, I may have found myself in a similar tangle of messy feelings and broken hearts.

The ending was maybe a bit too neat for me, but I liked the way things ended for each character even though there was a lot of heartbreak and fear to sort through.

Also Susannah would have loved Good Luck Babe by Chappell Roan

It is January 4th, 2024 and I am already confident this will make my top 10 books of the year. Gorgeous writing and incredibly atmospheric throughout. I was blown away by this and was really relieved that the ending was incredibly satisfying and well done.
