"But what do you cling to, moment to moment, if memories can simply change."

Blake Crouch has such creative and entertaining story ideas. Recursion is another solid one, and it was easy to get invested in the story. The opening of the book was so interesting, and I couldn't wait to see where it went.

I do feel like there were a few too many characters, and it took me a while to get everything sorted. Once I had it down, though, Recursion was a really enjoyable story. It does have similarities to other stories (it reminded me a lot of Fringe at times), but it's still different enough to stand on its own. I think I would really like Recursion as a TV show. I had fun reading this one, and I can't wait to see what Blake Crouch does next!

Ahhh nada como un buen thriller para resetear el cerebro, y si le agregas ciencia ficción, la lectura se vuelve totalmente adictiva. Me encantó! Al principio intentaba adiviniar que sucedería, pero después me fui dejando llevar por la historia y no me decepcionó. El final, BUAAAAHHH, geniaaaaal!

Unique idea, at least to me, that really had me guessing on how they were going to fix things until the end of! Mind bender!

this book blew my mind omg. to think that i was going to dnf this book in the beginning is actually preposterous.

the time loops were so trippy it was insane. like i’m happy that we got to meghan grow up and barry and helena fall in love and get together, but everything else was just a shit show.

the plot twist where we find out that the first timeline was actually the second and all the things that happened in the beginning (all the cases of fms) happened because of marcus was crazy, that organization getting ahold of the chair and not listening to meghan, the world literally being blow up. i don’t even have that much to say because i’m just so astonished, i’m lowkey a little sad that we didn’t see the full ending of helena and barry’s story but at least we know that barry stopped the time loop (by going back to og timeline/dead memory) and he met helena again.

the funniest part is that for years helena kept on reliving the same life trying to save them, and then barry ending up saving them in the end. overall really good book it’s just that it got kind of repetitive when they just kept reliving the same moments but still really good!

A nice story about how memories can shape our reality. The concept was amazing and I really enjoyed the book till about the 60% mark and then I felt that the story has started to drag a little. Up until that point, everything was happening at a quick pace and then suddenly it wasn't. Suddenly, we drifted from the main point of the stories - memories - to saving the world from destroying itself. That was quite jarring.

I feel very conflicted about the ending as well. The solution to the problem was something that the main characters have always "believed" that couldn't be done without ever trying it out. And all I could ask myself was why didn't they try it before. I mean during all the time they spent on figuring out the solution to the problem, why didn't they test their their belief even once.

But again, aside from this last bit of jarring experience, I really enjoyed the concept playing around with memories. It was quite a novelty for me.

This book is astoundingly good. I want to give it 6 stars. It is thought provoking, thrilling, intense, emotional, poignant, funny, moving and utterly brilliant without ever being predictable.

I was sucked in to the story from go and hungrily devoured the pages until I finished the last one looking through tears.

Hands down the best book I have read this year. Buy it.
