Very Beautiful artwork. Reminds me of Hellboy artwork.
3 very short stories with very few words.
first one was 5 stars. Short but good.
second 3.5 stars probably. Same good art a a little more confusing, and I thought it was probably too short.
Third 3 stars. Art is still amazing, I'm way to dumb to have a grasp of the story with the amount of story left up to interpretation. Would have been great if it were a bit longer, or clearer, or if I was brighter...

The art alone is stunning! But the stories are gorgeous in a dark gothic way.

Stunningly beautiful, and absolutely haunting. I did not have any expectations coming into this book, and I fell in love within the first few pages. Becky Cloonan possesses as mastery over both imagery and storytelling. I absolutely devoured these stories, trepidation and awe gripping me as I turned each page. I read each story at least twice, and I lingered over the additional illustrations and sketches in the back. And when I put the book down at last, all I wanted to do was draw.

The artwork is so beautiful and eerie, Becky Cloonan is amazing. Every time I read a comic by this artist I am simply blown away by their talent.
It’s the morning after and I can’t seem to get these stories out of my head. By Chance of Providence was hauntingly beautiful. Each story is so wonderfully poetic and dark, leaving you with a sense of melancholy. Becky Cloonan does an exceptional job at blending fantasy and horror to weave three timeless tales I don’t think I’ll ever forget.
It’s very rare for me to find graphic novels that I like because I’m very picky about art styles but this one blew me away. I want these illustrations plastered all over my bedroom walls.
Out of the three short stories, Demeter was definitely my favorite. If I had to nitpick, I would say that I wish there had been more. These stories left me wanting… but perhaps that’s the point. Beautiful stories don't always need a HEA.

Oh, this collection of short stories is so wonderful: they hit the absolutely perfect combination of eerie, yearning, sadness, and fantasy. Basically, this collection is everything I ever want in my stories: knights, entities of the sea, mystery, and gorgeous artwork to top it all off. A must-read for graphic novel lovers.
