I don't know. Sweet MCs. Funny hyjinxes. But I'm a little bored. I know his dad is about to jack things drama llama, but the MCs are essentially together- even if Dante doesn't know it was AJ who saved him. Seems less important now. Dante is already dealing with his trauma in a mature and healthy way. The only reason to finish the book is to see Dante stand up to his dad in a public and terrifying way for him. So I may come back, but right now the other books are far more interesting to me.

This book destroyed me in the best way. Dante and AJ are just too perfect for words. Tilly provided much needed comedic relief and Sally's demonstrations/parties left me wheezing from laughing so hard. This entire series is my happy place.

re-read: I love this book so much. Dante is a fave of mine and AJ is so sweet. but more than that, this introduces Aster Valley and that pleases me more than words can describe.

3.5 stars. A beautiful love story with a harrowing story underneath. I'm knocking off half a star because there was too much Tilly and ridiculousness in it for me. A little of her goes a long way.

I’m so done aunt Tilly. She’s the worst! Everytime she's on the page, I lose any affection I have for the rest of the characters. She's so annoying. She was kinda cute in the first book, but with each book, she becomes more and more vulgar. I hate her so damn much.

Lennox's books are hit and miss, sometimes I love 'em, other times I really hate 'em, this one just did not work.

3.5 rounding up
I was surprised to see other views also complaining about Tilly. I feel like people usually like an older generation telling them what to do in books. But it is one of my pet peeves. I thought it might not be as bad if it were a more progressive person. Nope. Still annoying. The road trip portion of this was a no for me. The rest was much better. Not my fav Lennox story but it was fine. I just realized this series was her first and that is clear. It isnt bad but so much of her other work feels better to me
