Some of the short stories were fantastic (Patrick Ness' Tip of the Tongue and Derek Landy's The Mystery of the Haunted Cottage) while others (Charlie Higson's The Beast of Babylon) were...not. Overall would recommend, but some of the stories would be better explored as full fledged novellas/novels and not cramped into forty pages, and others would be better scrapped completely. (How do you ignore canon so bad?) I believe all of these can be found online though I'm not sure if they can be found separately. If so, I would specifically recommend the stories written by Ness, Blackman, Landy, and Gaiman. Possibly Scarrow as well.

This is a (longish) collection of short stories. Popular authors wrote a piece of fan fiction each about one of the (then) 11 Doctors. This rating is a sort of average of all of the stories. My 13 year-old Whovian son said "they range from 3 to 4.5 stars", and I'd agree. We would probably disagree on which ones we each liked the best, and that's a good thing. If you're a Doctor Who fan, you're certain to find something in here that suits you.

I only became familiar with Patrick Ness this year, and I loved his Chaos Walking trilogy. Happily, his story for the 5th doctor was one of my favorites. My son felt it didn't have enough of the Doctor included. Fair enough.

Some were painfully long, and didn't seem to capture the essence of the show. Then again, I only began watching at the 9th Doctor's season, so maybe the earlier ones are quite faithful, and I did well to skip those shows.

The Doctors I'm most familiar with (10th and 11th) had their stories written by the authors I'm most familiar with, so that was a handy thing. I highly enjoyed those last two stories, and it was a great way to end the book. My rating may have been lower if one of the ones I really didn't like (6th doctor) was the last story.

This was so much fun to read! My favourite stories were: The Fifth Doctor: Tip of the tongue, The Ninth Doctor: The Beast of the Babylon and The Eleventh Doctor: Nothing O'Clock. They were all pretty great though, honestly.

it's a right mixture of stories, some excellent some not as good, but perhaps this is influenced by who(!) tour favourite who is! Worth reading if you're a who fan though.

Some stories are definite better than others, but overall I really enjoyed listening to the entire collection.

Wanted to read something Doctor Who related in honour of the 60th Anniversary of the show, my local library didn't have the updated 13 Doctors version so 11 it is for now... Can't give it more than a 4 because I found most of them just okay. Favourite of the bunch was The Mystery of the Haunted Cottage (not surprising since Ten is my Doctor).
