I thought the blurb for this sounded familiar and I was right, I first read this as a Rizzoli and Isles fanfic, and it made more sense for those characters, as one was a detective and one an ME. Maura’s character traits also made more sense than Harper’s do here, because the social awkwardness has been removed. I also highly doubt that a lieutenant would be able to date a detective from the same precinct, or possibly at all, although it was interesting that the more dominant character (supposedly anyway) had the lower ranking job. There were also some spelling errors and missing words, so it could have used a bit more of a polish.

The Roma character has been through a horrible trauma, and her personality has manifested in relationship to this. The story is told from her point of view, so Harper is only seen through Roma’s eyes, leaving her less fleshed out. The interactions between them are fairly cute though, especially since Roma was nowhere near the bad ass she thought she was and crumbled in the face of Harper’s charms pretty easily. 2.5 stars, rounded up.
