I’m in love with Tripp. She writes her all characters so amazingly.

i really appreciate how the author knows how to write a good twist. i always think i’ve solved the mystery but then new information comes up and i’m spun around. however, im a bit tired of the “middle class/rich girl warms the heart of the poor boy with parent issues” storyline! it’s used in so many of her books and i would love to see something a bit more fresh.

Brynn left St. Ambrose behind four years ago for Chicago. Now forced to move back, she has a chip on her shoulder and a determination to prove herself. She's going to help solve the murder of Mr. Larkin, a beloved teacher who was murdered just before she left. This puts her in the path of her ex-best friend Tripp and the popular kids at school.

This was fine? It's not my favorite mystery, but I could see it being popular. There are plenty of twists and turns.

Not my favorite by Karen M McManus but def better than You'll be the Death of Me.
I liked the twists and turns and finding out who really was responsible for Mr Larkin's death. I wasn't expecting the whodunnit but I am notoriously bad at figuring that sort of thing out. Also liked the little nod to One of Us is Lying.
My only complaint with her books overall is the lack of diversity.

i read essentially all of this in a day i was so invested. i started it last night and i didn’t want to stop but i had school so i did and today i read it whenever i had free time between classes and when i had to go home i was genuinely considering staying in the library because i didn’t want to stop. i ended up reading in the halls and walking as fast as possible to get home and read lol
