The perfect autumnal, witchy light hearted read.

This was my first witchy and Gretchen Rue book and I loved it! I loved all the characters and the story line that although has the thriller nature made me feel really warm hearted ay the end.

The incredible little details about the bakery and teas etc really made the book feel so homely and just the perfect October read. I also loved how although it had its magical elements they weren’t over the top or completely unbelievable and it really felt like it could possibly be true!

I loved the sudden thriller turn to the story and it really made the storyline pick up. The only slight negative for me was that I feel the start of the book was so well paced and after about half way it went so fast and felt a bit rushed towards the end.

Overall a really good light hearted, halloween read with the perfect amount of romance and thriller. Would definitely recommend

3.5 - this was actually so much fun!! the perfect cozy, atmospheric book to break up all my summer reads lol. phoebe was a fun main character to root for and i loved seeing her settle into the small town of ravenwood and the relationships she formed with all the townspeople. i was intrigued by the mystery and was surprised by who did it. one of my favorite things was that phoebe inherits a bookstore and it was fun to read about her running that. i also loved the bit of romance we got and i am excited to see what happens in the next book!

It look me a little bit to get into the story, some parts are very detailed. A little too every now and again. But after a few chapters the story started grasping me and I absolutely loved it! Wanted to keep reading till the end of the book.
Also really love the recipes in the back! Now I can recreate all the yummy treats mentioned if I want to :)

Wow! For some reason, I wasn't expecting to give this book 5 stars, but I loved it! The plot and mystery were very well written, and the characters were fun and easy to get invested in. Near the end, I was kept at the edge of my seat, and the reveal of whodunnit was well crafted. I don't know if this author has other books out, yet, but I will definitely read her backlist if she does, and any future books. I loved the witchy parts in this book, as well, and the magic was fun to read about.
