This is undoubtedly well-written and provokes some really interesting and important questions about heterosexual relationships, misogyny, and society more widely. I did feel slightly disappointed by the direction the story takes, but I think that was because I went into it with the wrong expectations rather than any real fault of the book; I have previously read and loved Foster and so I think I was anticipating something more 'obviously' tragic. However, this was still a worthy read and I'm actually glad I got to read something a bit different to what I expected.
