The stories are hit or miss only because they cross many genres. I mostly read the fantasy ones and a little sci fi, but the gangster/mystery ones didn't interest me.
I really, really enjoyed "A Year and a Day in Old Theradane." I hope that we are to see a novel, or series of novels, set in that world, the building of which was excellent.
Neil Gaiman's story is also notable, but might not make total sense if you haven't read "Neverwhere." Gillian Flynn's story surprised me by being quite good.
The reason I picked up the book at all was because I am missing "Game of Thrones." The short story in this book is a companion to his story in "Dangerous Women" (which I also read and enjoyed much more than "Rogues"). Really both stories are about the dangerous women who lived during the "Dance of Dragons" period of Westeros. Enjoyable, but written like a chronicle at the Citadel, which I can let go because that is what it is supposed to be like.
Anyway, "Rogues" is an interesting collection of short stories in which I think everyone can find something to read among all the different authors and genres. I like short story compilations from known authors because the authors tend to play with their writing, throw out ideas, and create vignettes of characters from well known books.

This was really solid. I really liked all the more fantasy-centered ones, and enjoyed the realistic fiction ones a lot less(like Bad Brass-it was a great concept but just seemed to go on forever!)

it was really good. most of the stories were both charming and enthralling with only one or two that did not catch my attention. but they were all short enough that if you didnt love one, another would come up soon. the readers were all fantastic if you get the audible version.

I checked this book out for the George R.R. Martin story. I then read the first half of the book and liked the stories. I'm putting this down because I am not really feeling short stories right now.

Three and a half stars.
Another chapter of the incredible A Song of Ice and Fire series and a great companion to the Princess and the Queen.
As a Targaryen fan, I always enjoy these snippets of the past.

This is an anthology of short stories, about, well, rogues. Thieves, con men (and women), and creatures of all kinds.
