A sweet little Christmas novella with a heartwarming tale of finding love after grief with maybe a little help from a special Angel.

This is one that will stick with me for a long time. So many tears at the end, but what a beautiful story. ❤️

The Best Gift is yet another wonderful festive read from Eli Easton.
Greg is still hurting from the loss of his son ten months earlier and Robbie has been recovering from injuries sustained whilst serving his country. When the two meet as Greg picks up Robbie as a hitchiker, it seems fortuitous that Robbie is aimlessly wandering back towards his hometown but Greg is in need of help at his Christmas Tree Farm. They dance around each other for a few days before a bond forms between them as they share moments about their pain and Christmas memories. Together they lift and help to heal each other, it makes for a really heartwarming romance even as Greg can't really see anything happening because of their age difference and Robbie has something that he is keeping from Greg.
They make such a lovely couple and even though it's quite a quick, heated romance it still has those tender moments that bring out the emotion in the MC's and the reader. There are also a great group of characters that work at the farm, bringing the family feel to the story, especially Roscoe. A little bit of drama towards the end and a little bit of tension to festivities but it really brings the group together.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

Gentle, slow burn short.
Unnecessary secret.
Bittersweet Christmas.

I enjoyed Robbie and Greg’s story. They both have pain in their pasts but they both help hold each other up. I liked that they were connected by Greg’s son, even if Robbie didn’t tell him right away but I think they helped heal each other. This was another great Christmas story by this author

Pretty damn perfect Christmas story. Thanks Martin for the rec!
Because loss figures in the story, along with the love, it never tips over into too-sweet-land.
What you get is about bringing happiness to people, and what could be better at this season or any season?

This took me a minute to finish…because I was scared about the pain. I needn’t have been worried. There are tears, but there is also a great deal of healing and happiness! This is a quick read if you’re not a coward like me!

Cabot’s is full of Christmas magic! The tree lot and store and the sleigh rides…it all adds up to Christmas happiness, even for the scrooges out there!

Both Robbie and Greg are healing from losses and pain. I adore the scene in which the full story comes out and fully believe Sam had big plans for his dad and Robbie. Robbie and Greg help each other heal, find love, and build a future together. They have a low angst, slow burn relationship in which they become friends and then lovers.

The supporting characters are pretty great too which makes the story even better.
While I typically don’t like shedding tears in a feel-good Christmas story, this one was worth it!
