Super fast, but beautifully executed. An excellent pallet cleanser between longer novels.

5/5 stars!!
I'm not even sure how to fully explain why I loved this so much. The prose was elegant but still easily digestible. The characters were complex and imperfect, but you could still love them and feel for them. I also thought it was such a deeper reflection on abusive/toxic relationships than I've read before and I loved how it wasn't an easy "I hate my abuser because bad" but really delving into all the complexities that comes with being with a manipulative partner. That being said please please please read the trigger warnings before reading this. Gibson is very up front about what to expect, but I would not take them lightly.
And if you want to know how I felt about the epilogue (if that's what it was supposed to be)...let's just say I am not counting it in my review of the main story. I didn't hate it, but it was very jarring and felt out of place. I would've liked it more if I had more time in between finishing the main story and reading it.
However, I am looking forward to reading more of Gibson's work!!
