I loved the first three books already, and this is such a lovely answer to them. It shows the flaws and consequences without decrying the plot and characters we already know and enjoy. And I will always adore writing that can balance an awareness of human cruelty with a deep love for humanity. It's beautiful and full of heart.

I am irritated that it took me so long to read Le Guin! What was I even doing with my life. Dragon's and magic and feminism and now Old People Love!
Really impressed with the perspective Le Guin brings to this one. I read it at a perfect time when I was being overwhelmed with rage at the patriarchy. Finally we get to see the women's side of Earthsea and it's not pretty, but it's strong, resilient, and powerful.
