Really not well written at all, but as Love Only Once was the very first romance novel I ever read, I feel sort of obligated to give the rest of the series a go. This one had a pretty good relationship between the two leads, but the set-up to get them together was contrived, a lot of the "plot" was recycled from old Lindsey books (most notably Love Only Once), and at this point in the series, Lindsey seems increasingly obsessed with bringing the old couples who've already had their books into the picture. This book should have been able to exist on its own. It was too dependent on the heroes and heroines from old books, who all felt shoehorned in as some sort of cutesy in-joke, but added nothing to the central story. Pretty much, unless you're feeling series-obligated, give this one a miss and just read the first couple in the series instead. (The pirate one is pretty good.)

Probably won't be reading any further in this series.

Weird plot lacing and in needed side plots

Standard regency romance. A lot of secrets that lead to misunderstanding, but the sweet love that builds makes for a satisfying HEA.

I have read far too many of these books, and only a few of them were good. This one wasn't exceptional.

3.5. What I didn't like about his book is that after the bad guy is vanquished the hole romance changes gears without a real description to why o how it changed. Heroine threatened by bad guy, rescued by bud guys, hero decides to marry her, when days before he was perfectly happy with her as a mistress. Not even a monologue to tell the reader he loves her. Even if said monologue would have been a blatant cliché used way too often in this types of books (mistress romances).
But overall I liked the book. I felt this one was better written than the previous books in the series. But that is just my personal opinion.

Technically 2.5 stars because I skimmed large portions of the book. I really wanted to like "Say You Love Me" more than I did. Kelsey and Derek are lovely characters with an interesting situation and story, but the book kept getting side-tracked into characters and events that were probably established in previous books. I'm used to romance "series" being more stand-alone and I feel like that detracted unfairly from Kelsey and Derek. So while this book may be a good continuation for long-time fans of the Malory family, newcomers beware; you should probably read the first 4 books.
