Rating this a 4 ✨

Started with a banger and I loved that it grabbed my attention quickly. I think Colleen Hoover has a very simple writing style that makes it easy to devour.
I really enjoyed Verity’s manuscript. Definitely some creep factors and disturbing parts.
Please look up TW!

Now for the reason it isn’t a 5 star -
Lowen annoyed tf out of me hahah. Definitely a pick me girl
I think because of loving thrillers and suspense books it made the twist easier for me to predict. I was left some what underwhelmed 😩

Ending was stupid
Massive spoilers. This would've been 3.5/4 stars if it wasn't for the end. I was fairly enjoying it and flew through it.Verity being confronted by Jeremy was very underwhelming, just opens her eyes barely says anything then oop Jeremy kills her.  I would've liked to see Lowen also confront her when shes 'awake'. The 'sike verity didnt kill harper it was all a writing exercise' was stupid. I have difficulty  believing any mother who cares for her kids would be able to write such awful things about them. I hate the ambiguous ending, where its suggested that she mightve just wrote this letter to cover her tracks Jeremy and lowens 'romance' was just mostly sex.Lowens mother died recently, and she witness someone die right it front of her and then its just never mentioned after the first few chapters. No grief or trauma is mentioned at all. Thought Corey would make an appearance being jealous or whatever but he disappeared
All in all i hated the ending and the book overall mayve been better if it was longer

Though the premise was interesting, it didn't feel like there was a lot of payoff in the plot twist. Instead, the ending was kind of lackluster and felt really drawn out. I didn't feel emotionally invested in Lowen to understand the sleepwalking angle, and the ending just didn't have the payoff I was hoping for.

Lowen is a really selfish protagonist who has no concern about being the other woman helping Jeremy to cheat. It made it hard to root for her when she just seemed like a boring jerk through so much of the book.

I also couldn't stand Jeremy.
I get he's hot (according to Lowen), but the dude is clearly terrifying. His FIRST instinct upon hearing that his wife might have killed their child is to murder her...THREE TIMES. At no point does he contact the police or otherwise engage in a non-aggressive and homicidal manner. If he did try and fake her suicide, he also chose the most elaborate way to go about it by staging a car accident - which is so concerning. How Lowen feels comfortable to raise a child with him is beyond me.
