I’ve lowered my rating for this book at least 3 times now, because the more I think about it, the more I hate it.

This book gets all the stars. Verity is such a dark, disturbing tale that it reminded me of a car crash you can’t take your eyes off of. I had the feeling of holding my breath and sitting on the edge of my seat for the entirety of this book. If you are a fan of suspense novels and don’t mind an explicit memoir of a now unresponsive/incapacitated big time author, this is for you!

Wow, I mean, just wow. I have just finished the book and my chest is tight and my stomach hurts. Colleen Hoover does it again with a twisted plot laced with daring romance. This book moved fast, I started it 2 days ago and I devoured the story. Hoover keeps you waiting for answers and then sucker punches you with them. It was truly a thrilling read, but I found myself unsatisfied with the ending.
it was as if she undid all of her hard work by building up a psychotic character and then tearing down her entire character arc. She pushed all of the antagonistic qualities onto a character we were led to love. Also, the pregnancy trope (ew)
