Like 538 and a William Gibson novel had a baby. This novel overjoyed my inner electoral geek as well as providing some pungent criticism of even the best meaning attempts at creating a functioning governmental system for large numbers of humans. Certain things, like secure digital elections are mostly hand-waved away via "future tech" but that isn't the point of the story, so some magic is acceptable.

Fun if you don't think too hard about the details.

As a data scientist, this book made me happy deep inside my geeky heart. Mishima is an awesome kickass character: An introverted numbers geek with a "narrative disorder" who is also a secret agent traveling the globe to make the world safe for micro-democracy. Unusual and lots of fun.

Not my favorite writing style. Not my favorite type of cyberpunk, either.
