Seductive would be the word to describe this book. I never knew that this is what I needed until now, and I want more!

Did I think I was going to be reading a sci-fi horror love story between and human and a pleasurebot no I did not!
Didn’t enjoy it, absolutely!! I don’t know why this ended up as a suggestion on my kindle library but my kindle clearly knows what it’s doing because this was unlike anything I’ve read and now I will be needing to read more from this author!!
“I can make you come in ways you’ve never imagined. You thought you knew pleasure before you met me. You were wrong. I’ll show you what ecstasy truly means.”
A very unknown sci-fi blog writer gets a personal invitation from a famous inventor/business man to come and do a biography on him and his infamous pleasurebots.. a robot specifically designed to please whomever has the robot. Katherine (or Kit as she goes by) has an opportunity to interview Ian De Leon the creator and also meet a pleasurebot but she gets a whole lot more than she bargained for when she signs an NDA before entering Ian De Leon’s 150 story sky scraper home.
“True AI doesn’t exist yet. Because if it did, we would have to ask a lot of questions about what it means to be human. And if we took a step further, Pkeasurebots could no longer be classified as products. They would be slaves”
This was such a wickedly weird read which are some of my favourites.. there was mystery, futuristic sci-fi aspects, very good spicy scenes and a dark element to this story, I really loved it.

I read Thrum first and loved it so much I immediately downloaded this book. Idk why I’ve never stumbled across this intersection of horror and romance before, but it’s a combination I’m enjoying very much.
The self deprecation is a lot though. Like we get it.
I also didn’t loooove the ending just bc it’s too much like those fantasy books w a really inexperienced small woman suddenly being able to fight extremely well out of nowhere with no real work put in.

This was way too predictable and could've been sooo much better. I did love the ending but after reading the other novellas by Meg they are all starting to feel very much the same. I read this in one sitting and it was a bit of a bore. My favorite part was the dark and rainy city vibes. I honestly feel bad for Ian too so there's that??? now i feel weird. And maybe im putting Megs books on too much of a pedestal. But what I do like about Megs books are that they are unique enough that they stick with you and dont get lost in the collection of stories in my mind like they are fun in their own right.
