This is my last book of 2024 and what a way to end the year! This book had me in a chokehold and I could not put it down. Brother's best friend is one of my favorite tropes in MM romance and this book exemplifies why. Marcus is the most beautiful man that Seb has ever seen. He's thought so since he first saw Marcus in his family's kitchen and sent fruit loops flying. He never thought that Marcus would see him as anything other than Saskia's younger brother, until one night...
Marcus and Seb took us on an emotional roller coaster. I fell hard for these two characters who don't seem like they would fit, but they see each other in a way no one else does. What do you do when you get everything you ever wanted, but you don't feel like you deserve it? What do you do when it feels like it can slip through your fingers at any moment? That's the struggle both Marcus and Seb face in different ways throughout this book. This story is moving and poignant, and at times still funny and light. The journey that Marcus and Seb take is hard but necessary for both of them to achieve happiness and peace. If you want a book that will break your heart and put you back together, then you should definitely read this.
I received an eARC of this book from Gay Romance Reviews. This is my honest opinion.

Wow, just wow. What a ride Seb and Marcus took me on. There’s plenty of angst along the way which meant some tears and an ending that warmed my heart (cue happy tears) as these two wonderfully imperfect men struggled and fought hard for their HEA. A HEA that was years in the making. This author certainly knows how to weave a story with strongly developed characters and a compelling narrative that grabbed my attention immediately and wouldn’t let me go. This is the story of a broken man and “just two imperfect people loving each other” that is worthy of more than 5 stars.
