Typical Scarecrow book, but re-reading it a 2nd time it's definitely not one of my favorites. Really great action mixed with too many dull boring times. Just didn't care for the story as much. Still good, just not as good as some other stuff. I've re-read Jack West already and this is my first tie re-reading Scarecrow and I think I prefer the Jack West books.

It took me two months to get through all 17 million action packed scenes. This was my adventure selection for my library's Readers Advisory meeting. It was certainly adveturous, but this book just wasn't me.
However, in all seriousness, if you know somebody looking for a literary equivalent of Con Air, look no further. In fact, now that I remember that one character dies by being pushed in to a pit of meat eating komodo dragons, maybe I should change my review to two stars.....

Kidnap the President. Plot the overthrow of the government. Have 3-4 different groups shooting and killing each other at a remote facility. Set off an atomic bomb. Shoot down a Chinese space shuttle. Just another day in the park.

Well, if you have watched any Tamil action movie, (or atleast an Indian action movie) where gravity never does its job or villains are unusually late, take your pick. This is no better.

Matthew Reilly has proven once again why I keep going back for more!!
Another exicting adventure with Scarecrow and hiw crew.
Was a little slow in the start and then took off and I could not put it down.

Continuing my revisit of my old favourites, I liked AREA 7 a bit more than I did my re-listen of ICE STATION. "Mr President, there's a transmitter on your heart, and if your heart stops, America DIES" is possibly the campiest thing I've ever heard.
I think this was the first Reilly novel I ever read, way back whenever it was - probably high school. I can see why teenage-me enjoyed it so much, but like ICE STATION I struggled with it as a 30 year old. Really there's nothing wrong with it, and it does the job it was designed to do, I think I've just outgrown things that have "EXPLOSIVE" as descriptors.
Onto SCARECROW next - I remember almost nothing about it, so I'm actually interested to see how it pans out.
