This book grabs you from the beginning and keeps you wondering “what did I miss” as the story of Shelly’s traumas unfold. The author did a great job evoking sympathy from the reader for Shelly and describing how domestic violence has destroyed many women and their families. Heartbreaking at times and hopeful at others. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and recommend it.
