One of the best books I've ready in quite a while! This is the second book I've read by this author - the first was The Last List of Mabel Beaumont that I randomly selected because it was available on my library's app. It was a great book, but this one definitely tops it. This story deals heavily with spousal abuse, so be aware going in. It's both heartbreaking and beautiful. You couldn't help but love the main character and root for her at every turn. There's so much more I want to say, but I'm afraid it would give too much away. I devoured this book in less than 24 hours. I would highly recommend both the author and this particular book. Can't wait to read more by her.

The author carefully crafted an absorbing book about marriage, friendship, relationships and abuse. Shelley wakes up from a coma, fearing her husband, David. Starting out loving and gentle, David quickly turned jealous and abusive. As Shelley’s memories begin to return, she is confused as to what has happened to her. One thing constant, and so well executed, was Shelley’s constant friendship with Dee. Shelley’s relationship with her mother was also telling as to what Shelley later endures. Recommended. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.
