This a dark romance, loose (very loose) fairytale retelling that is RH/Why Choose? Heed the trigger warnings.
Alice and the three very unique men who kidnap her are all connected by her father. He’s wronged each of them in a big way. This is part of their reason for kidnapping her.
It’s dark, gritty and naughty. The sexual parts aren’t sweet, they are HOT!
I think the author did a great job of giving each man a unique voice. I had no trouble remembering who acted a certain way, what their known history was and what they looked like. I think with multiple male main characters that can be problematic, I really appreciate that the author did that so well.
The story isn’t fast paced, but it did hold my interest.
I wanted more plot, though. I wanted just a bit more of everything to have me desperate to read the next book.
It’s going to be a trilogy and if you follow my reviews you know I find them a bit difficult for a few reasons.
This is an example of one that I enjoyed this first book, I like the unique characters and vibe. I like the grittiness and raw sexuality. However, I don’t feel attached to the characters and like I stated, I wanted a bit more.
Now, I will read the next book, I like the premise and characters unique history and relationships enough that I want to continue on the journey.

Who doesn't love reading about dangerous men who stalk their target for years before making their move?!? I really like how each character has their own demons & disadvantages, but instead of burdening them, they use it as a need for revenge. This book is left on a cliffhanger, but I cannot wait to dive right into book 2!

This was my first book by this author and I’m intrigued. This fractured fairy tale was dark and twisted and different from anything I’ve ever read before. A group of misfits with heinous pasts fighting against true evil to come out on the other side. I look forward to seeing how it all plays out.

This story is a wild and wonderful mafia meets Alice in Wonderland meets menage romance all wrapped in one. The subplot is a tantalizing thread I couldn't let go of. The first line of the book description says it all - My name might be Alice, and this sure as hell isn’t wonderland, but everyone is definitely a little mad here. We have several storybook characters reworked into an epic mafia revenge story that spans 3 shorter books. This story is worth every page turn. Told from multiple POVs of all the characters, you still don’t get the full picture of the main plot that is happening as it is slowly unveiled. The tension and pacing of the story is fantastic and will make you not want to put it down!

Alice’s life has been devoid of love for a long time. Living life in a fishbowl where her only value is in the sale of her innocence, she craves freedom from her gilded cage. She slips away for slivers of freedom when she can, and one night her life changes. Taken from one cage to another as a pawn in a long game of revenge against her father, she is dropped into a world where 4 men love one another and crave things from her. Will she stay the pawn or will she rise to queen in the plot to topple her father from his throne?

I loved that this is both a romance and an epic tale of revenge. There is so much happening in this story as we see the guy move the chess pieces on their board, but also glimpses of each man’s past. My only wish for this story is that it was one steamy scene that wows you. Maybe it’s to come in the rest of the two books. I’m not complaining at all. This story grabbed my attention completely and kept me in its clutches. I’m so glad I was able to binge this story through books 1 and 2, and I will be immediately diving into book 3. Overall, this was a wild, dark, and thoroughly enjoyable story.

Sins that Find Us is my first read from EM Lindsey and this one did not disappoint. I will definitely go back and read her previous novels, because I was pleasantly surprised with this one. Sins that find Us is a play on modern fairytale romance but it is nothing like a sweet fairytale. This story has it all, darkness, lust, desire, passion, and panty melting scenes that make all readers blush. EM Lindsey brings these scenes to life with mind-bending words and descriptions that leave readers wanting more. The steamy scenes are scorching with burning desire mixed with MMF, MM, and MF scenes that leave nothing to the imagination. I will definitely be reading the next of the series!

(I received an ARC for this book)

This book ends on a cliffhanger!

Trigger Warnings include:
kidnapping, torture, suicidal ideation, D/s dynamics, murder, blood play, torture kinks

This is for the dark romance lovers who never grew out of their disney fairy tales! Sometimes, when a book starts off with a long list of characters and moving parts it’s daunting, and can easily take me out of the story trying to keep them all straight. But not this one. It only made me curiouser…and curiouser. (Alice in Wonderland is both my favorite book and movie, so I’ll try to keep the references to a minimum.) This was a great start to the series! And although it’s meant to set the stage, and introduce us to the players, it never lacked. I never felt like I needed it to speed ahead faster and “get to the good stuff”. I loved getting to enjoy the little moments, moments that we wouldn’t have gotten if things moved faster. I got to truly enjoy getting to know Kane and his misfits, how Alice fits in with them. And she does, in ways no one anticipated. (I did though. I hoped for it.) Kane’s misfit toys crave his attention, and they definitely get it! Usually with a dark romance why choose, I instantly key in on a favorite, but not with this one. No, I loved each of them for their own reasons. I loved Kane for his unexpected kindness. I loved Phoenix for his ability to surprise me. I loved James for his softness. I love Ariel for his…well, his morally greyness. And most importantly, I loved the way they were with each other, and how different it was. The vulnerability with each other. Kane built them a safe space, a gilded cage. Not that any of his loves would leave him. I seemed to be the only one surprised that they worshiped Alice without hesitation. She knows she needs to accept that they’ll never love her in the way they love each other. But at least they have accepted that she has become a part of their lives, of their protective circle. Alice isn’t stranded alone on an island. They’re in this together. And now, I’m ready to fall down the rabbit hole into war!

I received an ARC.
Please note that the book ends on a cliffhanger, but the next one in the series is coming out in a few weeks.

This is my first dark romance from EM Lindsey, and also my first Why Choose from them, and I was not disappointed.

Kane, Phoenix, Ariel, and James are true anti-heroes, with a dark past, present, and future. They are all scarred by their pasts but fiercely loyal, loving, and committed to each other. All are men who are not only familiar with violence and death, but also enjoy dancing with it.

Alice is the new character in this group, and while she is the most innocent of them all, she fits in as if she were born for them all to share.

I love EM Lindsey's writing and the way they write characters that feel like real people, and I really enjoyed this book!

The book ends with a cliffhanger that had me gasping and eagerly waiting for Sins That Bind Us to read more.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author so I had no idea their writing style. I also signed up as an ARC reader and didn’t pay attention to the storyline.

But let me tell you…this book is whoa
